Monasterium Laboratory is a dermatological research company specialized in preclinical skin, hair, pigmentation, neuroendocrinology, immunology, and wound healing research in the human system. Given the continuous expansion of our company, we are seeking a team-orientated, highly motivated and enthusiastic Staff Scientist (m/f/d) full time to join our team. After a training period of 3 – 6 months in Münster, the Staff Scientist will be working at the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology in Haifa, Israel as a guest scientist. Main Duties and Responsibilities:
The main responsibility will be to serve as Project Lead for internal and contract research projects under the direction of Prof. Amos Gilhar and ML’s CSO, acting as an interface between the ML location in Münster and the Skin Research Laboratory in Israel. The main task is to execute experiments with humanized mouse models and to manage assigned projects by designing experiments, organizing workload of assistants, supervising the execution and by executing laboratory work, preparing progress and milestones reports, and presenting research results in internal and external meetings. Occasionally, the Staff Scientist will visit the ML location in Münster for internal meetings.
Task Requirements:
- Organize the work packages for each assigned project in order to meet deadlines
- Build scientific knowledge in regards to the topics relevant for each assigned project
- Conceive, design and independently execute assays
- In vivo work: whole animal injections, transplants, routine treatments
- Establish and validate new techniques
- Critical and professional data analyses, and interpretation
- Supervise technical assistants
- Critical and professional project documentation following MLQM guidelines
- Perform statistical analysis and presentation of data with appropriate software (e.g. Excel, GraphPad Prism, FlowJo)
- Professionally prepare milestone reports, project updates, and manuscripts
- Discuss scientific results with other company employees
- Participating in scientific lab meetings
- Proposing new innovative techniques
- Organize maintenance and troubleshooting for assigned equipment
Eligibility:
- Completed training as PhD in a relevant discipline
- 2+ years post-doctoral experience
- Strong background in applying immunological techniques
- Proven expertise in FACS, FACS cell sorting, cytokine array or ELISA, MACS isolation, and RT-qPCR
- Publication of at least three peer-reviewed first author paper in an international life sciences journal
- Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English (Company language: English)
- Good knowledge of written and spoken Hebrew is a benefit
- Priority will be given to applicants with documented experience in skin and/or hair follicle research, and/or in vivo work using mouse models

Type of contract:
